Dr. Daniel Sullivan

Clinical Psychologist

Initiating change in life is hard, but therapy can help you make movement in areas where you have felt stuck. I believe the work we do in therapy is not only about feeling better or gaining insight, but also about feeling whole. While the process can be difficult, it can also be rewarding. I enjoy doing this work with my clients and appreciate being a part of their process.

I recognize how difficult it can be to find the right therapist and I’m happy to speak to you by phone for a free consultation. I look forward to working with you to help build the life you envision for yourself.

"We are all simply more human than otherwise."

~Harry Stack Sullivan

I am a therapist in Newburgh and Brooklyn. My offices are accessible to Orange, Ulster, and Dutchess counties.

Education and Experience

I received my undergraduate degree at Tufts University and my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology of Yeshiva Univeristy. I began my training as a therapist with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs working with veterans struggling with homelessness, addiction, and combat trauma. I later worked at Montefiore Medical Center in the Substance Abuse Treatment Program (SATP) as an Attending Psychologist and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. While at Montefiore, I trained externs and fellows and served as the Director of Externship training for doctoral-level psychology trainees in the SATP. I have also worked for several years with teenagers and young adults in Bard College’s Counseling Service.

I provide therapy to adults, teenagers (16+), and couples. The clients I see in my practice are often struggling with things such as relationship and parenting stress, panic attacks, social anxiety, ADHD, depression, OCD, trauma, substance use and addiction.
